Missions at blue ridge

The Great Commission

  • Our goal with Blue Ridge missions is to fulfill The Great Commission: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” -Matthew 28:19-20

Our Vision

  • Lead in reaching the Unengaged/Unreached People Groups
  • Meet the felt needs of the community
  • Increase participation from Blue Ridge members in personal, local, and global P.E.A.C.E. missions

P.E.A.C.E.

  • The Blue Ridge PEACE Initiative is our church’s response to the five global giants plaguing much of the world: Spiritual Emptiness, Self-Centered Leadership, Poverty, Disease, and Illiteracy.

The Church

  • The PEACE initiative is about turning an audience into an army, consumers into contributors, spectators into participators. It’s time for the church to be the church. We continue Jesus’ s strategy through the PEACE initiative with imperfect people empowered by God to make a difference together wherever they are.

Three Areas

  1. Personal Peace- Your personal ministry to the people in your life.
  2. Local Peace- Our church’s ministry to those in our community.
  3. Global Peace- Our church’s ministry to the entire world.

  • Thailand

The Wiederholt's, missionaries in Thailand, are having a large impact on groups of people by being able to train others with the principles of the P.E.A.C.E. plan and working to lower the risk of human trafficking. You can go here to check out the latest of what they are doing in Thailand and even sign up to for their mission's newsletter.

  • El Salvador Mission trips

El Salvador is located in the beautiful mountains of Central America. El Salvador is still suffering the effects of a 15-year civil war. After the conclusion of the war, many people emigrated to North America, and El Salvador's economy became dependent on money being sent back home by family members. This has created a harsh reality for those left behind. Blue Ridge has sent missions teams to El Salvador the last couple years.

  • the brooks church

The Brooks is a new church plant in downtown Los Angeles. The needs are great in this city with it being the second largest in our nation's homeless population, not to mention the human sex trafficking and drug problem. The pastor of The Brooks is Jimmie Davidson, who is also the founding pastor of Highlands Fellowship in Abingdon, VA.  Jimmie and Highlands have played a huge role in helping to establish Blue Ridge.

  • Food Pantry

We demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by providing the compassionate, respectful distribution of non-perishable food each month to those who are in need in our community.  Our food pantry team shops, stocks, organizes and distributes food boxes to 20-30 families each month.
