The Great Commission
Our goal with Blue Ridge Missions is to fulfill The Great Commission: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” -Matthew 28:19-20
Our Vision
Reach the Unengaged/Unreached People Groups
Meet the felt needs of the community
Increase participation from Blue Ridge members in personal, local, and global missions
The Church
Our mission strategy is about turning an audience into an army, consumers into contributors, spectators into participators. It’s time for the church to be the church. We continue Jesus' strategy through missions at BRF with imperfect people empowered by God to make a difference together wherever they are.
Three Areas
Personal - Your personal ministry to the people in your life.
Local - Our church’s ministry to those in our community.
Global - Our church’s ministry to the entire world.
Check out our different missions below:
Global
Everywhere Church- provides a global online spiritual community accessible from anywhere, offering practical teachings, guidance to dynamic worship, and a supportive network. Aiming to bring the transformative power of faith to every corner of the world.
Global CHE Network- Missionaries Eric and Shannon Wiederholt are dedicated to serving the Myanmar diaspora in the USA and SE Asia, training Christian leaders, teachers, and volunteers in transformational community development, and facilitating Bible-based Trauma Healing groups.
Team One Hope in Guatemala - provides opportunities to serve through Hope of Life International- a faith-based humanitarian nonprofit organization helping children, families and communities in Eastern Guatemala working to fight malnutrition and end poverty.
Domestic
The Local Gathering- This new church plant in Mountain City Tennessee is on mission to introduce people to Jesus, guide them into community for healing and teach them to discover their purpose.
Laurel Mission serves the residents of Harlan, Leslie, and Letcher Counties in Kentucky, meeting both physical and spiritual needs. Volunteers have the opportunity to join work teams, helping with repairs, providing resources, and offering support. Each act of service brings the love of Christ, making a lasting impact on the community.
Local
Kid’s Summer Outreach Event- Our Kids Summer Outreach is more than just an event—it’s an opportunity to impact young lives with the love of Jesus! Through fun activities, engaging worship, and hands-on service, we have the chance to create lasting memories and plant seeds of faith in the next generation. Volunteers help lead games, teach lessons, serve snacks, and simply love on kids. Whether you have a heart for teaching, organizing, or just lending a helping hand, there’s a place for you on our team! Training and background checks required.
God’s Storehouse- opportunities to serve those in need including the unhoused, children in foster care, low income families, those suffering trauma or addictions and many more. God’s Storehouse has been providing the Galax community with free hot meals through their Soup Kitchen since 2014.
School Support is dedicated to meeting needs in our community by caring for both students and staff. Many children lack essential school supplies, and teachers often pour their own resources into their classrooms. Through practical support, encouragement, and acts of appreciation, we strive to ease these burdens and create a positive impact in our local schools. Every supply given and every note of encouragement shared is a way to uplift and serve, reflecting the love of Christ in tangible ways.
CarePortal, launched in 2015 by The Global Orphan Project, connects our church with vulnerable children and families in need. Through this platform, we provide essential support, help prevent family crises, and strengthen foster care. We also build relationships by praying with families, inviting them to church, and making a lasting impact in our community.
Elisha’s House is a refuge for those in need on Galax’s coldest nights, opening when temperatures drop below 35 degrees. In the cold seasons, our team serves twice a month, providing meals, welcoming guests, staying overnight, or by cleaning. Every act of service shares love, hope, and dignity with our neighbors. Training is required, and the impact is life-changing for all involved.
